UnitPro · Sci Unit Converter

Privacy Policy

UnitPro has no account and no sign-in. Every conversion, calculation and measurement runs on your device, and your history stays there. The app reaches the internet for two things only: exchange rates, and — in versions that include them — advertising and crash reporting from Google. It never asks for your name, your contacts or your location.

Scope

This policy covers the Android application UnitPro, listed on Google Play as Sci Unit Converter — UnitPro, and nothing else. It explains what the app handles, what leaves your device, and what you can do about it.

Using the app means you accept this policy. If you do not agree with it, uninstall the app — there is no account to close and nothing of yours left on a server.

Data kept on your device

The following is stored in the app's private storage. It is not transmitted anywhere, and no other app on your phone can read it.

WhatWhy it exists
Conversion & calculation history So you can reuse a past result instead of typing it again.
Favourites and last-used units So the app opens on the pair you were working with.
Settings (theme, angle mode, Quick Start) To remember how you like the app set up.
Cached exchange rates So currency conversion still works with no internet.

You can clear the history from inside the app at any time. Uninstalling removes all of it.

Permissions

Camera

Used by Scan Label, which reads printed numbers off a package, and by Camera Measure. Frames are processed on the device and discarded when you leave the screen. No photograph is saved to your gallery and no image is uploaded. The permission is requested the first time you open one of those tools, not at install.

Microphone

Used by the Sound Meter to read a decibel level. The audio signal is measured live and never recorded, stored or transmitted.

Internet and network state

Used to fetch exchange rates, and to serve ads and report crashes in versions that include those features. Every unit conversion, every calculator and every measuring tool works with no internet connection at all.

UnitPro does not request location, contacts, storage, SMS, call logs or any other permission.

Exchange rate providers

Currency and crypto rates are fetched from these third-party endpoints:

These requests carry no personal data, no identifier and no information about what you were converting. Like any web request, they do expose your IP address and a standard user-agent string to the provider, which those providers may log for abuse prevention. Their own privacy policies govern that.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Ad-supported versions of UnitPro use Google AdMob to display ads. Google acts as an independent controller for this data. AdMob and its advertising partners may collect and process:

This is used to serve and measure ads, to limit how often you see the same ad, and to detect invalid traffic. UnitPro does not send Google your conversion history, your inputs or anything you type.

Controlling ad personalisation

Google's handling of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, and the current list of advertising partners is at support.google.com/admob/answer/9012903.

Analytics and crash reporting (Firebase)

UnitPro may use Google Firebase for two purposes, and no others.

Firebase Analytics

Records anonymous, aggregated usage — which screens are opened, which unit categories are used, how long a session lasts — so that development effort goes to the features people actually use. It collects an app instance ID, device model, OS version, country and language. It does not collect your name, email, or the values you convert.

Firebase Crashlytics

When the app crashes, it sends a stack trace along with the device model, OS version, available memory and a randomly generated installation identifier. This is what makes a crash reproducible and fixable. It contains no personal data and none of your history.

Google's processing of this data is covered by the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation and the Google Privacy Policy. Analytics data is retained for a limited period configured in the Firebase console and then deleted automatically.

Who your data is shared with

Nothing is sold. Nothing is shared with data brokers. The only third parties involved are the ones already named above:

RecipientWhat it receivesWhy
Rate providersIP address, user-agentTo return exchange rates
Google AdMobAdvertising ID, device & ad-interaction dataTo serve and measure ads
Google FirebaseAnonymous usage events, crash reportsAnalytics and crash fixing

Beyond that, information is disclosed only where the law requires it — a valid court order or an equivalent legal demand.

Retention and deletion

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal data held about you, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent you previously gave. Because UnitPro holds no account and stores your history only on your own device, most of these rights you can exercise directly: clear the history, reset the advertising ID, or uninstall.

For anything covered by the GDPR (EEA/UK), the CCPA/CPRA (California), or a comparable law, contact the address in section 13. UnitPro does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

Children

UnitPro is a general-audience utility. It is not directed at children under 13, and no information is knowingly collected from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, write to us and it will be deleted. Ad-supported versions request ad content ratings appropriate to a general audience.

Security

All network requests use HTTPS. On-device data lives in the app's private storage area, which the Android sandbox keeps inaccessible to other apps. No system is perfectly secure, but there is no server holding your data to breach — the app has none.

Changes to this policy

When the app gains a feature that touches data differently, this page is updated and the effective date at the top changes. Material changes will also be surfaced inside the app. Continuing to use UnitPro after an update means you accept the revised policy.
