Generate strong random passwords of 16, 18, 25 or up to 64 characters with uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols. Free and made in your browser.
Runs in your browser. Your data never leaves your device.
Pick a length from 6 to 64 characters, choose uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols, and the generator makes a random password with your browser's secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues). Every type you tick appears at least once. You can leave out look-alike characters such as l, I, 1, O and 0, make several passwords at once, and see how strong each one is in bits. Nothing is sent to a server or saved.
Strength depends on the length and on how many different characters can appear. With all four types ticked there are 87 characters to choose from, so each one adds about 6.4 bits: 16 characters give about 103 bits, 18 about 116 bits and 25 about 161 bits. Even 16 random characters is far beyond what anyone can guess or brute-force. Longer passwords suit keys you set once and rarely type, such as Wi-Fi or database passwords.
Chrome suggests a strong password when you sign up on a site and saves it in Google Password Manager, which works well if you use Chrome everywhere. This generator works in any browser and for the passwords Chrome can't fill in: servers, databases, Wi-Fi, app secrets and accounts you share with a team. Save what you make here in any password manager.
Passwords built from a name, a birthday or a pet are the first things attackers try, because that information is easy to find. If you need a password you can remember, use a passphrase of four or five random, unrelated words, and let a password manager remember random passwords for everything else.

At least 16 random characters for accounts that matter. Length adds more strength than symbols do, and a password manager means you never have to type it.
Here, yes: the password is made on your device with its secure random generator and is never sent anywhere. Avoid sites that make passwords on their server.
Length, real randomness and being used for one account only. A long random password stops guessing; using it nowhere else means one leak can't open your other accounts.
Yes. Set the slider to 25, or to any length up to 64 characters.
Only when there's a reason, such as a data breach or someone else knowing it. Changing strong passwords on a schedule doesn't make them safer.
